Potential For Use Of Ex-Gold Mining Land As A Media For Planting Corn (Zea Mays L.) In Mandor Village, Mandor District, Landak Regency

Abstract

Former gold mining land (LBPE) has potential for the development of agricultural crops and plantations, but due to the many obstacles, research needs to be carried out to determine effective soil improvement. The aim of the research was to determine differences in the chemical properties of soil as a growing medium for corn plants. The first research activity is soil chemical analysis, while the second research activity is testing the planting of bonanza corn varieties. The experiment used a completely randomized design (RAL) with 3 treatments and 6 replications, consisting of corn plants + LHS, corn plants + LBPE < 10 years and corn plants + LBPE > 10 years. The best acidity level is at LBPE < 10 years. The best planting medium is LPBE planting medium > 10 years. The recommendation from the research results is that land can be improved by revegetating the land, providing ameliorants and using phytoremediation plants.
