Abstract

Scabies is a contagious skin disease originating from the environment. Scabies is a persistent health problem that is caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei hominis variety, which is transmitted through direct or indirect contact and usually found in tropical climates. This research aims to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and nutritional needs with the incidence of scabies in male students at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School, Kubu Raya. The study used an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach and involved 60 samples. Data was collected through a questionnaire and will be analyzed with univariate and bivariate analysis (Spearman rank test). The results of the Spearman rank test showed a significant relationship between personal hygiene and the incidence of scabies (0,000). However, there was no significant relationship between nutritional needs and the incidence of scabies (0,250). Personal hygiene has a significant relationship to the incidence of scabies.
